Privacy and the NSIPosted by NSI Bloggers on Thursday, September 30, 2010
Earlier this month, we showcased recent developments in the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative (NSI) In Depth: The NSI and referred to the importance of protecting citizens’ privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties in the SAR process.
Recently, the PM-ISE released the Privacy, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties Analysis and Recommendations report, and an accompanying Fact Sheet, which follow up on the Initial Privacy and Civil Liberties Analysis. These documents lay out in detail how the NSI addresses the need to protect privacy and civil liberties, and lays out the NSI Privacy Framework. We invite you to read these documents to learn more about the NSI’s strong commitment to privacy protections. For more information on the NSI, visit http://nsi.ncirc.gov/
